December 12, 2013 (Herndon, VA) – A panel of five investors will discuss venture and early stage investing at the eleventh weekly Security Leaders Dinner at Mach37 this week.
The panel will consist of:
Phil Elliott - Paladin Capital Group: Mr. Eliot is a Principal of Paladin and focuses on investments in technology-driven companies in a variety of industries. Mr. Eliot has been working with early-stage technology companies since 2000, when he joined FBR Technology Venture Partners (“FBRTVP”), a $200 million venture capital fund focused on software and telecommunications companies in the mid-Atlantic region. Prior to joining Paladin, he was a Vice President at Core Capital Partners, where he led investments in software and infrastructure companies including SilverStorm Technologies (acquired by QLogic, NASDAQ: QLGC) and RulesPower Corp. (acquired by Fair, Isaac; NYSE: FIC). Mr. Eliot began his career as a consultant at Dean & Company, working in the telecommunications and utilities industries as well as the firm’s private equity practice. Mr. Eliot received an A.B. in Physics with Honors from Harvard University.
Matt Brady - Militello Capital
Pascal Luck - Core Capital Partners: Pascal Luck joined Core Capital in 2000 and focuses primarily on the firm’s new media, networking infrastructure and information technology sectors. Pascal has been an advisor to and an investor in emerging technology companies as an investment banker and venture capitalist for more than seventeen years.
Prior to joining Core, Pascal was Managing Director and Founder of Cross Hill Financial Group, a DC-based private investment banking/M&A advisory firm. Earlier, he was a Senior Manager with Deloitte Consulting where he specialized in finance and strategy initiatives for product and service companies in the telecommunications and information technology industries. He began his career as a systems engineer with AT&T-IS/Bell Laboratories.
Pascal is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds an M.B.A. in Finance with Distinction from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, a Masters of Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, and a B.S. in Physics/Engineering from Loyola University in Maryland.
Steven Chen - Blu Venture Investors: Member of Blu Venture investors and member of Executive Committee. Currently Founder and Board Director of Totus-Solutions (physical security and wireless), Cofounder and Chairman of Power Fingerprinting (cyber security), Chairman of Totus Strategic Partners, President of Monte Jade DC, Chairman of IEEE 1451.5 Wireless Smart Sensor Networks and member of Mindshare Alumni and FounderCorps. Formerly founder and CEO of 3eTI (acquired by EFJohnson in 2006). Served as CEO of Totus Solutions, Chairman of BioGreen, CTO of EFJohnson, and VP of PCB Piezotronics.
